Why Attend An Open House?
If you are serious about buying a home, attending an Open House is a great opportunity to tour the home and get to know the neighborhood. Pictures in the MLS don’t always do the home justice and without touring a home, you might just miss that special something that appeals to you. You don’t need an appointment and if you have an agent, he or she doesn’t need to be with you. If you aren’t already working with an agent, it’s a great opportunity to begin a relationship with one. You can see how the home is marketed and be sure to ask a lot of questions.
Most of the time, you’ll be asked to sign in and provide an address and phone number. This helps the seller’s agent show the attendance for the seller and possibly follow up with you. This also keeps track of who’s walking through the home for security.
I hold a lot of open houses in the Kingwood and Humble areas and thought I’d put out some helpful open house etiquette tips for anyone in search of their new home. Read HERE for open house etiquette tips.
