It’s that wonderful time of the year where our communities come together as we approach the holiday season. It seems like we’ve been coming together a lot lately. Though we had the flooding devastation of Hurricane Harvey, the Texas Coast remains strong. Kingwood remains strong. The neighborhoods will continue to carry on the tradition of decorating their homes for the holidays. The Christmas lights in Kingwood are fabulous with the neighborhoods going all out with lighting up their homes. If you live in Kingwood, the Kingwood Civic Club suggests having your home decorated by December 8th through the 13th for initial judging by the HOA’s. Final judging will be December 15th and the winners will be selected on December 16th.
The categories that will be judged are:
Best Traditional
Best Religious
Best Lights
Santa’s Favorite
Best Doorway
Best Block Spirit
My family has made it a tradition and we look forward every year to being on the panel to judge the decorations. Last year in 2016 we judged Kingwood Greens. The lights and decorations were absolutely fabulous. Below are a couple of pictures of winning homes.
There will be a map of featured homes in Humble, Kingwood, and Atascocita that have gone above and beyond with their Christmas displays at hkatexas.com. Whether you live in Kingwood or not, be sure to make it a point to drive around all the neighborhoods to see the all-out decorated homes. You’ll be glad you did and hopefully make it your family tradition as well.
